Steve is passionate about early New Orleans jazz piano styles. His favorite is that of one of the most important figures in the creation of jazz, pianist and composer Jelly Roll Morton. Steve operates on the belief that the principles and boundaries of early jazz should be adhered to, and that the music is relevant, fresh and alive when played with some degree of proficiency and lots of love.
